Ingredients
- 450g fresh chicken livers
- 1 large onion, peeled, slices and separated into rings
- 20ml (4 tsp) oil
- 5ml (1 tsp) salt, divided
- Pinch of black pepper
Instructions
- Pat the livers dry with paper towels, cut them in half, then trim and discard any visible fat or green parts.
- Heat the oil over medium heat until hot. Add the onions, sprinkle them with ½ teaspoon salt, and then fry them for about 10 minutes, stirring often, until golden-brown.
- Remove the onions and cover to keep warm. In the same skillet, add the cleaned chicken livers.
- Sprinkle them with ½ teaspoon salt and a pinch of black pepper.
- Cook the livers over medium heat until browned but still pink in the middle, 2-3 minutes per side.
- Divide the cooked livers between plates, top with the fried onions, and serve.
