Ingredients:
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ cup butter, melted
- 1 cup cake flour
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3 medium apples
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 cup sugar
- Beat together the melted butter, sugar, and egg until light and fluffy. Peel and core the apples, and slice into thin pieces.
- Fold the apples and walnuts into the butter mixture. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon.
- Stir the flour mixture into the wet mixture until just blended. Spread the batter evenly in a prepared square baking tin.
- Bake for 35 minutes in a 180° oven, or until a toothpick inserted in the centre, comes out clean.
